Mr. Hoover was born in Santa Monica, California in 1970. Being raised by the
family of a very well respected police officer and police chief in Whittier,
California, Mr. Hoover was exposed at an early age to the legal system in the
United States. Mr. Hoover chose at the early age of 16 that he wanted to be an attorney. In 1989, beginning with his studies
of English and History at the University of California, Mr. Hoover was trained
in how to use the English language to effectively persuade others to his point
of view. After graduating from the University of California in 1993, Mr. Hoover
was admitted to study law at the University of Detroit Mercy, in Detroit Michigan.
There, under a strict Jesuit studying regime, is where Mr. Hoover began to tailor
his talents in persuasion and effective personal skills in the practice of law.
In the last semester of his third year of law school, Mr. Hoover was privileged to
be invited to study in the university’s London Law Program at the Maria Assumpta
Educational Centre in London, England. In this program, Mr. Hoover was exposed
to international cultures and studied international and comparative law. It was
an experience, as he says, "that forever changed my perspective on people and
introduced me to the beauty of diversity that exists in our world today." After
graduating from law school he made the move to the Pacific Northwest where he then
opened up his law firm in 1998. In 2006, Mr. Hoover graduated, yet again, from
the University Of Washington School Of Law with the legume mastare (LL.M. or
Master’s of Law) degree in taxation. As he is often known for saying, "The LL.M.
degree in taxation was the most practical and useful legal education I ever
received." With this extensive background and education, Mr. Hoover, through his
firm of Gregory Scott Hoover P.L.L.C., is still successfully representing people
in the Pacific Northwest in litigation matters and other business transactions. His firm consists of Gregory Scott Hoover, Attorney and Real Estate Broker, his assistant Jennifer Mui, an investigator and law clerk from Seattle University School of Law and Fawn Chen his Chinese assistant.
Mr. Hoover is also asked to speak at seminars from time to time on his experiences
in the practice of law and on the areas in which he practices. He is a member of
numerous bar associations including the American Bar Association, the Association
of Attorneys for Justice, Washington State Trial Lawyers Association, Oregon Trial
Lawyers Association, the Latino Bar Association of Washington, the Asian Bar
Association of Washington, NAPABA, the U.S. Tax Court, all federal courts in both
states, the Ninth Circuit and the bar of the U.S. Supreme Court. Mr. Hoover
currently resides in the Pacific Northwest. |
